Tungsten alloys are not used in the “green” or lead-free bullet. The
bullet are “green” because they are considered more environmental friendly than
bullets containing lead. Green bullests typically contain tungsten that is mixed
together with either nylon or tin. Tungsten alloys used in armor-piercing
munitions, on the other hand, contain other metals, such as nickel, cobalt,
iron, or copper, and are subjected to high temperature and pressure to bond the
materials together.
Now the green bullet has been widely used in Army
installations.
